What's included?

• Symptom evaluation and neck exam for enlargement or nodules
• Thyroid function tests: TSH and, if needed, free T3 and T4
• Diagnosis of hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism
• Starting and adjusting treatment (for example, levothyroxine for hypothyroidism)
• Regular follow-up with lab work to keep the dose right
• Thyroid ultrasound when a nodule or enlargement is found
• Endocrinologist referral for cases that require it

How do I prepare?

The TSH test doesn't require fasting. If you already take thyroid medication, take it after the blood draw, not before, and let us know. If you're also getting other blood tests (glucose, cholesterol), come fasting for 8 to 12 hours.

What is the visit like?

1. Come by whenever it suits you, no appointment, and sign in when you arrive.
2. The medical staff evaluates your symptoms and examines your neck.
3. The blood sample is drawn at the clinic.
4. When the lab returns the result, we explain it in Spanish and, if appropriate, you start or adjust your treatment.
5. We schedule follow-up: generally every 6-8 weeks while adjusting the dose, and every 6-12 months once stable.
