  • Treatment of vaginal infections
  • Private care in Spanish

Your health as a woman deserves a space of trust. At Clínica Hispana Nueva Salud we offer gynecology care in Spanish, with the privacy and respect you deserve: no appointment needed, no insurance required and affordable pricing.

What does the gynecology visit include?

  • Pap smear (cervical cytology): detects early changes in the cervix, including those related to HPV.
  • Routine gynecological checkup: general exam, symptom evaluation and guidance on your intimate health.
  • Vaginal cultures: pinpoint whether the discomfort is caused by yeast (candidiasis), bacteria (bacterial vaginosis) or trichomonas.
  • Treatment of vaginal infections: the right medication based on the result, not a guess.
  • Evaluation of abnormal discharge, itching, burning or odor.
  • Guidance on birth control and pregnancy testing if you need it during the same visit.
  • Specialist referral when the case requires it (ultrasound, colposcopy, a high-specialty gynecologist).

When should I get a Pap smear?

Most guidelines recommend starting at age 21 and repeating it every 3 years if the result is normal (or every 5 years combined with HPV testing from age 30). If you've never had one, it's been several years, or you had an abnormal result before, don't put it off: it's a quick, few-minute test that can catch problems before they cause symptoms.

Signs you need a gynecology visit

  • Discharge that's different from usual, with odor or a yellow/green color
  • Itching, burning or irritation in the intimate area
  • Pain or bleeding during or after intercourse
  • Bleeding between periods or very irregular periods
  • Lower-abdominal pain that won't go away
  • Symptoms that keep coming back even after treatment

A vaginal infection that's poorly treated or self-treated "from the internet" usually comes back. With a culture we know exactly what's causing it and which medication truly resolves it.

What is the visit like?

  1. Walk in without an appointment and check in at the front desk, in Spanish.
  2. Talk about your symptoms or the reason for your checkup with the medical staff, in private.
  3. The exam is performed and, if needed, the Pap smear or culture is taken.
  4. If there's an obvious infection, you leave with treatment the same day.
  5. We let you know when lab results are ready and explain what they mean.

Tip: for a Pap smear it's best not to be on your period and to avoid intercourse, douching or vaginal suppositories for 48 hours beforehand. If you have questions, call us and we'll guide you.
