How soon are results ready?

In most cases results are ready the same day or very soon, and we explain them to you in Spanish.

Only for glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides: fast 8 to 12 hours, water is fine. For CBC, thyroid, vitamins or hormones no fasting is needed.

Can I get tests without an order from another doctor?

Yes. Our doctor evaluates you in the same visit, orders the tests you need and then explains the results.

Which tests does a general checkup include?

Usually CBC, glucose, lipid panel and liver and kidney function. Depending on your age and symptoms we add thyroid, vitamins, PSA or hormones.

Do you test for HIV and other infections?

Yes. With the same sample we can test for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis and other sexually transmitted infections, confidentially.

What if a result comes back abnormal?

The doctor explains what it means and sets up treatment or follow-up in the same visit. If a specialist is needed, we give you the referral.

Do I need an appointment?

No. We welcome walk-ins Monday to Sunday from 9 AM to 9 PM. You can also call us to reserve a time.

Do you accept patients without insurance?

Yes. You don't need insurance; we offer affordable, transparent pricing. Ask us about the cost before your visit.

A blood test is the fastest and most affordable way to know how your health is doing on the inside. Many conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, anemia or thyroid problems cause no symptoms at first and are only found through lab work. At Clínica Hispana Nueva Salud we draw your sample with no appointment, no insurance required, and explain every result in Spanish, without the jargon.

When should I get blood work?

Once a year as a preventive checkup, even if you feel fine
If you have constant tiredness, dizziness, excessive thirst or unexplained weight loss
If diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure or thyroid disease run in your family
To follow up on a treatment (diabetes, thyroid, cholesterol)
Before starting a new job, a sport or a weight-loss plan
After a risky encounter, to rule out infections

Do I need to fast?

It depends on the test. For glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides an 8 to 12 hour fast is recommended: you may drink water, but no coffee, juice or food. For CBC, thyroid, vitamins, hormones or infection tests no fasting is needed. If you're combining several tests, come fasting in the morning and we'll draw everything in a single sample. If you take medication, don't stop it; just let us know what you use.

What is the visit like?

You walk in without an appointment and check in at the front desk.
The doctor or nurse reviews your symptoms and confirms which tests you need.
Your blood sample is drawn at the clinic; it takes just a few minutes.
When the lab delivers the results, we call you or hand them to you at your follow-up visit.
The doctor explains every value in Spanish and, if something is off, you start treatment or follow-up the same day.

A lab report full of abbreviations isn't much use if nobody explains it. That's why every test includes a review with the doctor: we tell you which values are fine, which need attention and what to do about it. If you need IV fluids or vitamin injections, medication or a specialist referral, we take care of it in the same visit.
