Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Testing

Taking care of your sexual health is an act of responsibility to yourself and your partner. At Clínica Hispana Nueva Salud we offer confidential, respectful, judgment-free STD testing, with treatment when needed: no appointment, no insurance required and in Spanish.

What's included?

• Private evaluation of symptoms and risk factors
• Testing for the most common infections: chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV, herpes, trichomonas and hepatitis, depending on your case
• Lab analysis of blood, urine or a swab depending on the test
• Treatment and guidance if the result is positive
• Guidance for your partner, so you both get treated and avoid reinfection
• Complete confidentiality: your results are yours alone

When should I get tested?

• You had unprotected sex or the condom broke
• You have a new partner or more than one partner
• Your partner told you they have an infection
• You have symptoms (see below)
• You simply want peace of mind: many STDs cause no symptoms

Keep in mind each infection has a "window period": for example, chlamydia and gonorrhea can be detected 1-2 weeks after exposure, while HIV and syphilis may take a few more weeks. We'll tell you when to test or retest.

Symptoms you shouldn't ignore

• Burning when urinating or discharge from the penis or vagina
• Sores, blisters, warts or bumps in the genital area or mouth
• Itching, irritation or odor
• Lower-abdominal pain or pain during sex
• Bleeding between periods

Many of these symptoms get mistaken for a urinary tract infection or a vaginal infection. That's why we evaluate your whole case and, for women, can add gynecology care.

What is the visit like?

1. Walk in without an appointment and check in; nobody asks the reason out loud.
2. Talk privately with the medical staff about your symptoms or concern.
3. The necessary samples are taken (blood, urine or swab) in a few minutes.
4. If symptoms are clear, you can start treatment the same day.
5. We notify you discreetly when results are ready and explain next steps.
