Which infections do you test for?

The most common ones: chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV, herpes, trichomonas and hepatitis, depending on your case and symptoms.

How many days after sex should I wait to test?

It depends on the infection: chlamydia and gonorrhea from 1-2 weeks; HIV and syphilis may need a few more weeks. We'll tell you when to test or retest.

Should I get tested if I have no symptoms?

Yes. Many STDs cause no symptoms yet can still cause harm or spread. If you had a risky exposure or a new partner, it's worth getting checked.

Do you provide same-day treatment?

If symptoms are clear, you can start treatment the same day. In other cases, we wait for the lab result to give the right medication.

Should my partner also get treated?

Yes, in most cases. Otherwise, you're very likely to reinfect each other. We'll guide you on how to talk about it and get treated together.

When should I get tested?

You had unprotected sex or the condom broke
You've started with someone new or have several partners
Your partner told you they have an infection
You have symptoms (see below)
You simply want peace of mind: many STDs cause no symptoms

Keep in mind each infection has a "window period": for example, chlamydia and gonorrhea can be detected 1-2 weeks after exposure, while HIV and syphilis may take a few more weeks. We'll tell you when to test or retest.

Symptoms you shouldn't ignore

Burning when urinating or discharge from the penis or vagina
Sores, blisters, warts or bumps in the genital area or mouth
Itching, irritation or odor
Lower-abdominal pain or pain during sex
Bleeding between periods

Many of these symptoms get mistaken for a urinary tract infection or a vaginal infection. That's why we evaluate your whole case and, for women, can add gynecology care.

What is the visit like?

Walk in without an appointment and check in; nobody asks the reason out loud.
Talk privately with the medical staff about your symptoms or concern.
The necessary samples are taken (blood, urine or swab) in a few minutes.
If symptoms are clear, you can start treatment the same day.
We notify you discreetly when results are ready and explain next steps.
